Halloween // three costumes you can put together with clothes you already have

Hey Babes!

Halloween is right around the corner! Preparing for this spooky time of year can be stressful, especially when you look at the costume prices. Luckily, there’s always a DIY option, and for this post, I put together three costume ideas that use pieces you may already have in your wardrobe.

Rosie the Riveter

Do you have a denim shirt? Do you have a red bandanna? Yes? Then you’re in luck, because you can easily make a Rosie the Riveter costume out of the clothes you already have. Rosie the Riveter is an American icon, and her outfit is pretty easy to mimic.

What You’ll Need

If you want to go all out, you can go online and purchase Rosie the Riveter accessories, such as the polka dotted bandanna and the patches that go on her shirt. For shoes, I would wear combat boots, but you can wear sneakers, heels, or basically whatever you want! Recreating this look yourself is so much more rewarding than paying $30-$50 for a packaged costume at the costume store.

A Unicorn

If you don’t mind purchasing a couple of accessories, this next DIY costume can be really fun to put together. If you have a white shirt and white pants, grabbing a horned headband from somewhere like Wal-Mart to add to your white outfit makes the perfect unicorn! Instead of pants, you can also wear a colorful tutu with (or without) knee highs. What makes this look so fun is that you can add all the glitter and sparkles you want, wherever you want. You can even add rainbow eyeshadow and/or spray paint your hair some fun colors! With this one, it’s all up to you.

What You’ll Need

A Robber

This last one is super easy, it involves all black everything, it’s a robber! This one could be really fun if you got a group of friends to all dress up like robbers. My sister did that one year and it was AMAZING.

What You’ll Need

To make this costume even better, you can add props like a fake gun or a bag of money. With a costume like this, people will be “putting their hands up” all night!
