It’s the most wonderful time of the year! This year, I’ve noticed that plaid is very on-trend, and not just for winter pajamas either. Besides plaid pajamas and flannels, you’ll be able to find plaid on other articles of clothing such as dresses and skirts. I’ve never been a huge plaid person, but I recently came across some super cute pieces that I just HAD to blog about, so keep reading for some super cute ways to wear plaid this season.
1. Pink Plaid Skirt
Whenever I see a plaid skirt, I get Clueless and/or school girl vibes. I never thought I’d see myself in one, until I saw this adorable light pink plaid skirt from Target. The colors are what stuck out to me, but this particular skirt is perfect for fall because it is made from a sweater-like fabric that is bound to keep you warm. The material also makes it a perfect piece for the cooler months, and it’s not something you would typically wear in the spring or summer. For a cute fall outfit, I paired this skirt with a white crop top from Urban Outfitters, a brown cardigan also from Target (similar here), and black over the knee boots from Belk.
Obviously, you wouldn’t wear this outfit on a super cold day, but it’s just warm enough to keep you cozy when there is a nice fall breeze.
2. Pink Plaid Shirt
You might be thinking “Addie Weaver, you are SUCH an outfit repeater” when you see my look in this piece because it’s true, I posted this exact outfit before a couple years ago, but it’s too cute to not post again. And it’s still relevant, so why not? I got both of these pieces fromOld Navy, and I love how the brown stripes on the plaid shirt perfectly match the cozy suede skirt. Old Navy isn’t my favorite place to shop for clothes, but if you look really hard you can find some gems, and for a good price too!
This same shirt from Old Navy would also look pair of jeans and riding boots. I love the idea of that look because it’s so versatile. You can tuck the shirt in, do a half tuck, or even wear it open with a white tank underneath.
3. Oversized Red Plaid Shirt
Ok so this next piece, my oversized red plaid shirt from Target, is a little more of the traditional plaid. I feel like when most people think of plaid, they think of the main color being red and the stripes being black, which is exactly what this shirt is, except with a little blue added to it.
Lately, I’ve been loving anything oversized, whether it be a shirt, dress, or sweater, and that’s why I bought this shirt in an XL. I’m pretty sure that this shirt was already made to be oversized, but I wanted it as big as I could get it, which is why I got the biggest size possible. It looks so cute paired with black leggings, my black over the knee boots from Belk, and a Calvin Klein beanie.
What do you think of these plaid looks? Let me know in the comments!
