The fact that Christmas is in two weeks and it’s still hot enough to get a nice tan at the beach here in Florida baffles me. I mean, we’ve had some cold days recently, but for the most part it’s nice and sunny. But, as someone who loves summer and hates the cold, I’m not complaining. Especially because I can wear things like this brown pinstriped dress from Charming Charlie and not look ridiculous.
I love this dress because the fabric is very luxurious feeling, and it has a sophisticated and classy, yet trendy look to it, making it a great day-to-night piece. I recently wore this dress to a dinner at Seasons 52, and I felt like I fit right in with the atmosphere. It wasn’t too fancy to where I was overdressed, but I still looked elegant enough to where I wasn’t underdressed either. I didn’t really dress up this outfit too much because it has a lot going on already with the bow and the stripes, but I did wear a pair of white snakeskin heels from Chinese laundry. I hate when patterns are mixed, but the snakeskin print on the shoes is very subtle, so it doesn’t clash with the stripes.
Speaking of the stripes, I love them because they elongate your body and make you look thinner, like black does. I also really like the fact that it ties in the front at the waist, because it emphasizes and cinches your midsection.
